Only a Tent!

This morning as I sat on the deck in His Presence..........I remembered the first tabernacle, the one that God ordered and whose construction Moses directed.

Many years later David's heart longed to build God a "real temple, " more than a tent. God's plan was to for Solomon to build that house!

Jon and I watched a documentary this past week on The Temple's history in Jerusalem. It was amazing to really get the visual perspective and grandeur of it.

However, this morning I was reminded that God's Presence had indeed filled the first tent tabneracle as well.

The morning beauty glistened through the tree tops and bathed my swing where I sat propped up. I listnened to my Psalms on my Ipad, having to replay some of them over and over........so much to try to grasp about this awesome God I serve.

Then I played my selection of hymn favorites.........  As the words of "How Great Thou Art," "It is Well With My Soul," "Blessed Assurance," and then the precious "Sweet Hour of Prayer" flooded my heart.........I was lifted above the mundane of this world, of this day!

How I wondered could this "ole deck" glow with so much of His Presence?  It is truly my "Tabernacle," my sanctuary......  Unworthy! Oh, so unworthy!  Yet His amazing grace, mercy, and love reaches me!

I'm not in any way trying to touch the Glory of God's first Tabernacle!  But at the same time, I'm humbled and reminded that God's Word tells me that in "this Day" I can know Him and worship Him............dwelling in my heart!

I'm reminded that God is still writing my life in chapters!  So many precious ones of the past have closed. And now, this chapter of my life, although far more different  than I ever dreamed, is a beautiful one.  After all, I am His and He is mine!!!!

Where Jesus Is...Til Heaven There!!! by Charles J. Baker

Since Christ my soul from sin set free,
This world has been a Heav’n to me;
And ’mid earth’s sorrows and its woe,
’Tis Heav’n my Jesus here to know.

Refrain:
Oh, hallelujah, yes, ’tis Heav’n,
’Tis Heav’n to know my sins forgiv’n;
On land or sea, what matters where?—
Where Jesus is, ’tis Heaven there.

Once Heaven seemed a far-off place,
Till Jesus showed His smiling face;
Now it’s begun within my soul,
’Twill last while endless ages roll.

What matters where on earth we dwell?
On mountaintop, or in the dell,
In cottage, or a mansion fair,
Where Jesus is, ’tis Heaven there.
